USDA Issues Proposals On How To Label GMO Foods

Despite a lack of scientific evidence to suggest that genetically modified foods pose a health risk, many Americans are still skeptical that they're safe to eat. Federal law will now require food makers to label foods that contain genetically modified ingredients starting in 2020. The USDA has released its guidelines for just how those labels will work and what kinds of food items they will apply to. Joanna Sax is a law professor at the California Western School of Law and an expert on food policy. She spoke to KCBS Radio anchor Rebecca Corral about the proposals.
