UCSF Launches New Clinic to Keep Athletes Heart Healthy

A career of tackles takes a toll on football players and after retirement NFL linemen are more than twice as likely to have metabolic syndrome than others. 

So today UC San Francisco is providing Cardiovascular screening to some of those retired NFL players. 

It's all part of the roll out of the University's new Athletic Heart Clinic. To tell us more about it we spoke with Theodore Abraham. He's a UCSF professor of cardiology and the co-director of the Atheltic Heart Clinic.
