To South Gate (marina, fishing, boat rentals): From San Francisco, take I-80 east over Bay Bridge to the split with 580. Bear right on 580 and drive 34 miles to Livermore and continue east on 580 to Vasco Road. Take Vasco Road north and drive 4 miles to Los Vaqueros Road. Turn left and drive to South Gate entrance station, then continue to marina.

To North Gate (mountain biking, hike trailhead): Take Highway 4 east through Oakley and continue to the Highway 4 Bypass (when then turns into Vasco Road) and continue to Walnut Boulevard. Turn right on Walnut Boulevard and drive 1 mile to the entrance gate.

Note: Bring $5 and $1 for iron ranger.
