The laughs we've enjoyed from prolific comedian, comedy writer, director and actor Carl Reiner, turned to tears this week as we learned of his death last night at the age of 98.

Reiner's talents span decades. He began in the 1950's as Sid Caesar's sidekick in "Your Show of Shows"..went on to create the Dick Van Dyke Show...perform in memorable roles in films like “The Russians Are Coming, the Russians Are Coming” and, more recently, “Ocean’s Eleven” and its sequels.

For more on his life and comedic legacy, KCBS Radio news anchors Jeff Bell and Patti Reising spoke with Robert Thompson, Professor of TV and Popular Culture at Syracuse University.
