Thursday, April 18th
As is tradition on April 18th, sirens rang out in downtown San Francisco at 5:11 this morning to mark the moment when the 1906 quake struck 113 years ago.

As KCBS Radio reporter Holly Quan tells us, this was also retiring Fire Chief Joanne Hayes White's last commemoration, a day dedicated to emergency preparedness.
