The film Hidden Figures offers a glimpse into the largely unknown Black women who helped send astronauts to the moon. Many of the women who made major contributions to science have been largely overlooked throughout history.

A recent study shows just how often women have gone unacknowledged in scientific research papers they worked on.

The study was co-authored by Rori Rohlfs, an Assistant Professor of biology at San Francisco State, and Emilia Huerta-Sánchez, an Assistant Professor at Brown University in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

KCBS Anchor Susan Kennedy spoke with Rohlfs about the study.
