Bay Area bird watchers and volunteers are preparing once again for the annual Christmas Bird Count.

The Golden Gate Audubon Society will take stock of the Bay Area's bird population as part of the 120th annual nationwide bird count.

Dave Quady is an Audubon volunteer and has served as the co-organizer of the Oakland count for the past 17 years. He spoke with KCBS Radio anchor Dan Mitchinson for more on how it comes together.
