Competing plans to re-open the government were rejected by the Senate this afternoon as the shutdown continues to have widespread impacts across the country.

Meanwhile, JetBlue Airways CEO Robin Wright told investors today that things are reaching at "tipping point" with air travel as federal workers prepare to miss a second paycheck, and other airline executives are sounding the alarm that disruptions, delays and safety fears are growing.
