Anyone who's rescued an animal knows how beneficial it can be to the dog or cat, and to them. 

These days many shelters are heavily populated with Pit Bulls. 

Katja Guenther is an associate professor of gender and sexuality studies at the University of California, Riverside. She's recently completed research that sheds light on how pit bull rescue adoptions can reveal more about problems in our society.
