Governor Newsom Considering Stopping All Death Sentences

Governor Gavin Newsom is considering going beyond his moratorium on all executions in California.

The Los Angeles Times reports the Governor has expressed interest in stopping all new death sentences, although it's not clear how he would carry such an order out.

Claremont McKenna College government studies professor Jack Pitney says that while the Governor has the legal authority, the politics are a different story.
