Border Closure Could Affect Avocado Supply Here

If President Trump follows thru with his threat to shutdown the border between the US and Mexico it could have a serious impact on American avocado lovers.

Nearly half of all imported U.S. vegetables and 40 percent of imported fruit are grown in Mexico. This time of year virtually all avocados sold in the US are from Mexico. One estimate says if the border were shutdown we would run out of avocados in just three weeks.
