Anti-Vaccination Movement Reaches New Extreme In California

An anti-vaccination protestor in California took the movement to a new level Friday when she poured a substance that appeared to be blood on members of the state Senate.

The anti-vax movement has continued to grow despite the large body of scientific research which says that vaccines are a safe and highly effective public health tool.

For a look at how the movement got to this point, KCBS Radio anchor Scott Lettieri spoke with Dr. Brooke McKeever, a health communications professor at the University of South Carolina.
