Kim Vestal

Mon-Fri: 1 PM - 7 PM

If you think you’ve heard Kim Vestal’s voice before, you’re right! Kim is a longtime Bay Area radio personality whose voice has been heard on a number of local radio and television stations: doing commercials, playing music, anchoring the news, and since 2017, reporting traffic on KCBS Radio!

Kim is a born and raised Californian who fell in love with radio as a girl growing up in the Santa Cruz County town of Watsonville. After majoring in broadcasting at San Jose State University, her first radio job was as a Report/Anchor at the legendary KLIV.

Her 40-year plus career has included a 22-year run as the morning drive radio personality on KARA, with stints at KRTY, KBAY, KKIQ, KKDV and KUIC. She also does voice-over work from her home studio.

Kim is married to another Bay Area radio veteran, Craig Bowers. They have two grown children and live in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

In her spare time, Kim enjoys doing home improvement and gardening projects, cooking and trying out new recipes, and exercising: usually exploring trails in the Santa Cruz Mountains or watching classic movies while riding her Lifecycle.  She has been dabbling in meditation and yoga, thanks to the influence of her 25-year old daughter.

A 20-year breast cancer survivor, Kim continues to support the ongoing fight against the disease emceeing local events and fundraisers and has been a board member for the Santa Clara County American Cancer Society.

You can hear Kim on the air every weekday as afternoon drivetime traffic anchor on KCBS Radio!
