SFPD Searching For Pit Bull Owner Involved In Dolores Park Attack

May 17, 2018 - 11:52 am

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS Radio) - The search continues in San Francisco for the owner of two pit bulls that bit four people and attacked a smaller dog in the off-leash area of Dolores Park.

Police say four people with a Lhasa Apso-Poodle mix were bitten on their hands while trying to pull the pit bulls off their dog late Sunday morning. Three of them were rushed to a hospital. The fourth was treated at the scene.

The dog that was attacked had puncture wounds on its back and was taken to a veterinarian.

Veronique Lauriault tells KPIX 5, she takes her small dogs to Dolores Park all the time. "Is it going to stop me from coming here? Probably not, but if I saw somebody with fairly aggresive dogs, I'd probably put them on leash and leave."

Police say the pit bull's owner leashed his dogs after the attack and took off without leaving his name or any information regarding his dogs' vaccination records.
