SANTA ROSA (KCBS Radio) - A manhunt is underway for two Santa Rosa men who are wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing Wednesday night, according to police.

The people involved were gone when officers responded around 7:45 p.m. to a report of a fight in the 1200 block of Slater Street, police Sgt. Josh Ludtke said.

Kaiser Permanente Medical Center staff notified police a short time later that a male stabbing victim was at the hospital. The victim was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital due to the serious of his injuries, and he died there, Ludtke said. His name has not been released.

The victim was stabbed a number of times and the suspects fled in a vehicle believed to be a white Chevrolet Equinox with California license plate number #6YZM739, Ludtke said.

Police identified the suspects as Johnny Luis Martinez, 20, and Gabriel Cardin Heredia, 25, both of Santa Rosa. The department released photos of the suspects, who are both still at large, Ludtke said.

A reward up to $2,500 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects involved.
