Richard Swift, Musician With The Black Keys Dies at 41

TACOMA, WA (KCBS Radio) - On Tuesday morning, bassist for The Black Keys, Richard Swift died in Tacoma, Washington. Already a multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer, the 41 year-old Swift also played drums on bandmate Dan Auerbach's garage band The Arcs and toured with The Shins.

Swift's official Facebook page confirmed his death with the caption "And all the angels sing 'Que Sera Sera' Richard Ochoa Swift March 16, 1977 - July 3, 2018"

About a month ago, Swift was hospitalized with an undisclosed "serious condition" according to the Hollywood Reporter. A GoFundMe page was set up to take care of his medical bills.

Swift also worked with many other artists including Guster, Ray LaMontagne, and Van Etten.

Auerbach took to social media to confirm Swift's death. He writes "Today the world lost one of the most talented musicians I know. He’s now with his Mom and Sister. I will miss you my friend."
