Facebook Facing a Federal Lawsuit Over Housing Ads

(KCBS RADIO) - When it came to light in 2016 that advertisers could keep certain users from seeing housing and employment ads on Facebook the social media giant vowed to crack down and fix the problem.

17 months later and fair housing advocates say they're still waiting.

A lawsuit has now been filed in federal court saying Facebook continues to discriminate against certain ethnic groups, women, disabled veterans and single mothers.

KCBS Radio's Rebecca Corral spoke with Robert Schwemm, a  law professor at the University of Kentucky and author of “Housing Discrimination: Law and Litigation” about the lawsuit.
