California Attorney General Xavier Becerra said during an event in San Francisco that the dozens of lawsuits his office has filed against the Trump administration are necessary. "

"Why should we stop doing the things that have let us become the economic engine for this country?," he said to a crowd at the Commonwealth Club on Thursday night. "You've got to defend a state, a people, an industry that's gone out there and done the right thing the right way."

Already, Becerra, a Democrat, has filed dozens of lawsuits in attempt to stop Trump's policies on the border wall, DACA program for immigrants brought to the country as children and transgender soldiers in the military.
