The year after the all news format was launched on KCBS Radio, Dianne Feinstein was elected to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. She was sworn into office on January 8, 1970, became President of the Board of Supervisors, and then mayor upon the assassination of George Moscone in November 1978.
