Coast Guard Rescues 2 From Plane Crash Off Half Moon Bay

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two people near Half Moon Bay after their small Beechcraft Bonanza airplane crashed into the ocean waters Tuesday evening.

The single-engine plane went down, just before 6 p.m, about five miles west of Pillar Point Harbor, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The people onboard were not injured and declined medical attention, the Coast Guard said. 

The cause of the crash is unknown, the FAA said. 

The Lesh Air plane, registered in Denver, has sunk, according to the FAA.

The crash will be investigated by the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board.
