SAN JOSE (KCBS Radio) -- Barely 24 hours after shootings that left five people dead, authorities were investigating another shooting incident that startled neighbors near San Jose City College.

A neighbor told KCBS Radio reporter Tim Ryan he heard a rapid series of gunshots around 10:30 Monday night, and emerged from his home to find a wounded man outside and a car fleeing the scene near Richmond Avenue and Scott Street.

The neighbor said he believed the shots had come from the car.

Investigating officers found numerous shell casings on the ground. One round had shattered the windshield of a parked car.

Details were scant, but the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department said two suspects were taken into custody following the shooting. Details were unavailable regarding the condition of the shooting victim.
