SAN RAMON (KCBS Radio) -- A man is dead in a single-vehicle crash on Crow Canyon Road near San Ramon.  Authorities discovered the crash late Sunday night, but are unsure exactly when the crash occurred. KCBS Radio reporter Tim Ryan, at the scene, saw no skid marks amid indications that the vehicle appeared to have been traveling at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway.

The Tesla Model S was found off the road in a pond. The California Highway Patrol reported receiving a call from a landowner who saw damage to a fence on his property. He then followed a trail of wreckage and found the vehicle.

The driver was found dead in the vehicle and rescue divers were brought to the scene to search for other possible victims. They found none.

The investigation forced the closure of Crow Canyon Road near Bollinger Canyon Road for a time on Monday morning.

Authorities have identified the driver as Keith Leung, 34, of Danville. His business card, found near the crash scene, identified him as a freelance musician who specialized in the bassoon.
