A San Ramon teenager who vanished last month was found and appeared safe in Fairfield on Tuesday, according to police.

The teen, 14-year-old Taylor Cusick, had apparently run away from home and was in the company of another missing teen, San Ramon police announced in a statement.

"They both appear to be okay," the police statement said.

Before being located, Taylor had last been seen on July 30 at a friend's home.

Frantic posts on Facebook by her mother elicited an outpouring of support.

Dozens of volunteers joined Taylor's parents Jeanette and Rod Cusick on Sunday to search for their daughter. They fanned out from the friend's home where Taylor had last been seen to scour miles of trails.

On Wednesday, Jeanette Cusick expressed gratitude for support during the difficult week.

"Thank you to all of those who prayed and shared this post. ❤️ Special thanks to SR PD and to all of those who took the time to help us find Taylor.," she wrote.

San Ramon police investigators said Taylor had packed a few bags of clothes, and told several family members and friends that she wanted to run away by August 1.

Police said they learned during the course of their investigation that Taylor was possibly in the company of another juvenile runaway. That girl, Estella Nading, was with Taylor in Fairfield, police said. .
