San Francisco Hotel Workers Strike Could Be Over

A tentative agreement could end the two-month-long strike affecting 2,500 workers at Marriott hotels in San Francisco

Strikes erupted at Marriott properties across the country in early October, but San Francisco's UNITE-HERE members are the last to settle the labor dispute. Oakland hotel workers and Marriott officials reached a deal last month.

Workers will get raises, affordable health care coverage and other benefits, the union said in a statement.

Hotel employees could return to work on Wednesday if they ratify the deal later on Monday. Negotiators reached the agreement on Sunday.

"We look forward to welcoming our associates back to work," a Marriott International spokesperson said.
