Reporter Holly Quan spotted the trend at a job site in San Francisco's South of Market area, where it seems every block has at least one building under construction.

"You'll see a bunch of guys out here in a circle doing the same thing that we're doing," group leader James Beale said.

According to the US Department of Labor, more than a million workers annually suffer back injuries. That's one of every five workplace injuries.

OSHA estimates workers compensation claims add up to $20 billion a year.

Thus, the attempt to limber up and get ready for a hard day on the jobsite.

"We move heavy materials occasionally. We're moving all day; you're on your feet all day," said Beale.
