OAKLAND (KCBS Radio) -- Oakland Police say they have arrested several people and are seeking others in an investigation targeting what they described as a gang that targeted marijuana-related businesses from the Bay Area to the Central Valley.

The Oakland Police Ceasefire Team said the raids netted nearly 100 pounds of marijuana, several guns including assault rifles and a substantial amount of cash. Police said several men were arrested, though they did not release a precise number.

According to Capt. Ersie Joyner III, commander of the Ceasefire Team, members of the East Oakland-based gang were responsible for a series of burglaries and robberies at marijuana grow locations and dispensaries.

The gang's most recent suspected robbery took place on Thursday, even as officers fanned out with search and arrest warrants. It occurred at a marijuana grow in Hayward, where police said intruders beat a person, locked the person in a safe, and got away with a load of marijuana.
