OAKLAND (KCBS Radio) -- For the second consecutive morning, many Bay Area residents were awakened by an earthquake on Thursday morning.

The United States Geological Survey said the quake's epicenter was in the Hiller Highlands area of Oakland. The magnitude was given as 3.5 for the 6:11 am shaker.

Just over 24 hours earlier, a 3.4 magnitude quake struck the same general area. For many, it was an unwelcome sense of deja vu.

No damage or injuries were reported in either incident.

For the second morning in a row, BART instituted its post-quake protocol, stopping all trains for a brief safety inspection before resuming service at reduced speeds.
