The number of people killed in California's deadliest fire grew to 88 as Butte County's sheriff announced that investigators determined previously discovered remains came from more than one person.

No additional remains were found on Monday as the search for victims continues through the 153,000 acres scorched by the Camp Fire, Sheriff Kory Honea said.

Authorities have also narrowed the list of missing people to 203, Honea said.

The fire was declared fully contained on Sunday after destroying more than 18,700 buildings, including 13,700 homes, mainly in the leveled towns of Paradise, Magalia and Concow.
