SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS Radio) -- Forecasters warned Bay Area residents that another round of windy weather will hit the region on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service posted a wind advisory, effective from 1pm Tuesday through 10am Wednesday.  Forecasters called for southerly winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts reaching 40 to 50 mph along the coast and at higher elevations.

The latest blast of wind follows weekend storms that generated scattered flooding and brought down tree limbs and entire trees. One fallen tree was blamed for the death of a Novato man, crushed in his car Sundays on the UC Berkeley campus when a huge eucalyptus tree fell.

The latest storm is expected to herald several more days of unsettled weather, with forecasters calling for at least a chance of rain each day through the weekend, with the exception of Thursday.

The forecast calls for more snow in the Sierra, with the snow level slightly higher than it was in the weekend storms.
