The homeless man accused of attacking a woman outside of her San Francisco building has been named as a suspect who allegedly wielded a knife during an encounter with a woman and her friends earlier this year in the city.

Austin Vincent, 25, threatened to kill the woman and advanced toward the group while he carried the knife on February 4 in the SoMa neighborhood, according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle. The woman and her friends fled in a ride-hail car without being physically harmed, the report said.

That case had been unsolved until Vincent's mugshot circulated last week following his arrest for the attack on Paneez Kosarian last week outside of the Watermark condominium on Beale Street.

Surveillance video shows Kosarian repeatedly grabbed and dragged by an attacker as she tries to enter the building. Kosarian has said the assailant talked about robots during the encounter.

The victim in the knife-incident contacted police and claimed to recognize Vincent.

Vincent, who has been tracked with an ankle GPS monitor for several days as part of his release from jail, is expected to surrender during a court appearance on Monday to face charges from the earlier alleged crime.
