A body found in the San Francisco Bay near San Jose has been identified as a 32-year-old 49ers fan who disappeared during the team's Nov. 12 game at Levi's Stadium.

The Santa Clara medical examiner's office confirmed on Tuesday that Ian Powers died accidentally from salt-water drowning near the Alviso Marina. A group of duck hunters discovered his remains in the low tide on Saturday, police said in a statement

Powers, of Spokane, Wash., vanished while attending the Niners game against the New York Giants. His girlfriend said that he went to use the bathroom and never returned to his seat, according to Santa Clara police.

His girlfriend and her children waited by the car for hours, according to NBC Bay Area. Police said that Powers had been drinking, but it's unclear how he got into the waterway.
