State lawmakers are trying again to ban gun shows at the Cow Palace. KCBS Radio’s Jenna Lane reports, California governors have vetoed similar bills before, but supporters believe the dialogue around gun ownership is changing.

DALY CITY (KCBS Radio) - Three efforts to ban gun shows at Cow Palace have failed.

But that isn't stopping San Francisco State Senator Scott Wiener and San Francisco State Assemblyman Phil Ting from trying again.

On Monday, Wiener and Ting will announce their proposed ban on gun and ammunition sales during an appearance at the Bayshore Community Center in Daly City.

The Cow Palace hosts five gun shows a year. The most recent attempt to ban them failed in 2013 when Governor Jerry Brown vetoed a bill that would have required local authorities, who were opposed to the shows, to authorize them.

Wiener tells The Chronicle that the environment has changed, with schools being shot up and kids murdered and that it's time to protect the community.
