Facebook Reportedly Paid Teens In Exchange For Data

Facebook is at the center of another user privacy scandal.

TechCrunch reports that the social media firm has been secretly paying people to install a Facebook Research Virtual Private Network that allows Facebook to collect all of a user's phone and web browsing activity.

Facebook says it doesn't share the information with others and people can stop participating at any time, but the app violates Apple's policies, and the company is banning the app from the iPhone.

Facebook used the program to pay non-employees $20 a month for their data.
