The 2019 Academy Awards will be held Sunday night and there's nothing more fun than arguing about who deserves to walk away with an Oscar. Film critic Jan Wahl has come up with a list of whom she believes the academy will honor in the most notable categories and who should receive Oscars if it were up to her.

In some cases, her picks match up with whom she thinks is likely to win, but in several cases, she thinks the wrong person or film will get the Oscar.

Best Supporting Actress

In this case, Wahl's would give the award to Regina King of "If Beale Street Could Talk," and she believes King will indeed be the Academy choice.

Best Supporting Actor

This is a tough category with two deserving contenders. Either Richard Grant from "Can You Ever Forgive Me," or Mahershala Ali for his part in "Green Book" are worthy of winning the golden trophy.

Best Actress

Glenn Close should and will finally win an Oscar for her role in "The Wife."

Best Actor

Christian Bale ought to have his name called out when they open the envelope for his portrayal of Dick Cheney in "Vice," but our critic thinks that Rami Malek will come out on top for conjuring Queen's Freddie Mercury in "Bohemian Rhapsody."

Best Director

The long overlooked Spike Lee is due to win the award for top director for "Blackkklansman," but it seems more likely that Alfonso Cuaron will be recognized for his Spanish-language, black-and-white film "Roma."

Best Picture

It would delight Wahl to see "Blackkklansman" or "Green Book" to be named as the year's top movie, but Wahl thinks that "Roma" will be named the best film of the year.
