When investigators searched the Nevada home of the Gilroy Garlic Festival gunman, they found disturbing items that suggest there could have been a larger attack

Police are hoping these details will help form a picture of the 19-year-old's mindset.

Those items found in Santino Legan’s Nevada home include a gas mask, a tactical vest, a knife, a camouflage backpack, and reading materials on white supremacy and radical Islam, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Authorities also seized computers and hard drives, the report said.

A legally purchased shotgun was found in the car that investigators said he drove to the garlic festival site, and a bag of ammunition was found near the creek where they think he cut a hole in the perimeter fencing to get in before fatally shooting three people, including two children.

Despite initial witness reports of a second gunman, Gilroy police think Legan acted alone. Surveillance video at Gilroy stores shows him shopping alone hours before the afternoon shooting.

But FBI Deputy Special Agent-in-Charge Craig Fair told KCBS Radio that doesn’t definitively rule out an accomplice yet.

“We can have a diminished level of concern, as we interview victims and as we collect evidence, and we may drive towards that roll-out that there is in fact not a second person, but that’s something we strive to figure out very early,” Fair said.

Investigators are also scouring Legan’s computer to determine his mindset and beliefs, and whether he was in communication with — or under the influence of — anyone else.

The Chronicle also reports that one of his brothers told investigators that Legan was a loner who had been giving away some of his belongings in the days before the attack.
