San Francisco police and emergency workers have new warnings for the thousands of people expected to partake in the annual 4/20 marijuana celebration on Saturday in Golden Gate Park.

Partygoers are urged against buying illicit drugs. Some drugs were laced with more potent substances and sent nearly a dozen people to the hospital, said Supervisor Vallie Brown.

"We do not want you to buy it," she said. "A lot of it was laced with fentanyl. You know that is deadly."

This is the second gathering since California legalized pot, but the first since the legitimate industry has been up and running.

Inside the fenced area of Hippie Hill and Robin Williams Meadow in the park, attendees can bring blankets and snacks, but barbecues, tables, tents, glass items and speakers are forbidden.

This year plainclothes officers will be in the crowd scanning for illegal sales, Police and paramedics will carry Narcan for any overdoses.

Attendees are also asked to take public transportation. Muni will shuttle people downtown afterwards and police may close streets around the park in the Upper Haight depending on the size of the crowd.
