May 31, 2018 - 10:02 am

OAKLAND (KCBS Radio) - Ahead of the Golden State Warriors' fourth straight trip to the NBA Finals, the team is reminding fans of the danger of purchasing tickets from non-verified third parties.

The Warriors start the series at 6 p.m. on Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the fourth consecutive Finals matchup between the two teams.

Warriors officials said during the 2017 Finals, there was a 70% percent increase in fraudulent ticket reports compared to the regular season and this season more than 800 fans were denied access to Oracle Arena after purchasing counterfeit tickets.

The team encourages the purchase of tickets at www.warriors.com, by calling (888) GSW-HOOP or visiting the Oracle Arena box office.
