Rescue Crews Recover a Body In The Oakland Hills

OAKLAND (KCBS Radio) - A body has been recovered in the Oakland Hills not far from a car that belongs to the subject of a missing persons report. KCBS Radio reporter Bob Butler says police in Oakland found both in a steep ravine off Grizzly Peak Boulevard.

Oakland police missing persons detectives were searching along Grizzly Peak Boulevard when they found a white Toyota Prius as far down a steep ravine near Marlborough Terrace. 

"Oakland Fire Department responded. They checked the vehicle. No one was inside the vehicle. They also had Oakland Fire Department search dogs on-scene searching the area. Police spokeswoman Felicia Aisthorpe said. "They located a body. At this time, the person has not been identified. We can say it is a female adult."

Judy Spiegel says the car belongs to her son's girlfriend who was last seen by the girlfriend's son, Sunday night. "Then when he got up, I guess in the morning, or so, she wasn't there." she said.

Police being tight lipped about this case.
