BERKELEY (KCBS Radio) - Surveillance video has helped catch a laptop thief in Berkeley.

Video of a robbery near U.C. Berkeley last Tuesday shows a man walk slowly into Cafe Strada before suddenly grabbing a laptop and escaping in a waiting car.

Berkeley Police spokesman Byron White tells KPIX 5 they've seen it many times before. "He steals it quickly and runs away,"

In this case, police arrested 20-year old Kenneth Hendon. But White says there may be several other bands of bandits, all working independently.

Police continue to conduct sting operations and Cafe Strada says it has installed more surveillance cameras.
