August 12, 2019 - 3:41 pm

A thief stole jewelry and electronics worth an estimated $500,000 from retired baseball great Alex Rodriguez in San Francisco after breaking into his rental car, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

A-Rod's car was burglarized on Sunday night while he dined nearby, the Chronicle reported.

He was visiting San Francisco as part of ESPN's broadcast team for a game between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies.

The car was parked on Brannan Street between 3rd and 4th streets when the alleged burglary took place.

Police declined to confirm that Rodriguez was the victim, but said a theft occurred Sunday night at that location and the owner reported losing a camera, laptop, jewelry and bag.
