Tim Ryan graduated from CSU Chico with a Journalism degree and worked at KSRO Radio Santa Rosa and WCCO News/Talk CBS station in Minneapolis from 1982 through 2000. After several stints with CBS Radio out of NY he made his way to the Bay Area joining KCBS in 2005.

Tim was live on the air from Candlestick Park when the Loma Prieta earthquake struck in 1989, continuing his coverage for days on a borrowed bicycle. He was embedded with the CA National Guard for 11 days after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005. Tim commutes to work on Caltrain and his bicycle.
