Enjoy a Christmas-themed 5K fun run in downtown San Jose on Sunday, December 15th, with a “reindeer dash” for children, costume contest and special prize for the fastest man and woman who finish the race in a Santa costume. 

"We have milk and cookies, and a finisher medal for the runners," says Kimberley Ellis with the Silicon Valley Leadership Group Foundation, which is organizing the event. Finisher medals double as tree ornaments so you can celebrate your accomplishment all season long. Proceeds go to Christmas in the Park, Downtown Ice and Reading Partners.

Sunday, December 15th from 2pm to 5:30pm in Downtown San Jose

Latekepalooza Hanukkah Extravaganza
Celebrate the Festival of Lights with a laser light show at the Peninsula JCC. Event includes latkes, wine tasting for adults, games and bounce house for kids, live music and a laser light show set to Hanukkah music. "Hanukkah is a holiday that celebrates miracles, including miracles of light," says organizer Stephanie Levin. Everyone is invited to attend.

Souls of Mischief and Free Admission Day at the de Young Museum
The entire de Young museum will be free on Saturday, December 14th, including the special exhibit “Soul of a Nation” paying tribute to art and Black Power in the Bay Area. Legendary hip hop group Souls of Mischief will perform and the museum will screen their documentary “Til Infinity: The Souls of Mischief” with a Q&A with the director.

32nd Annual Lighted Boat Parade & Fireworks

Dozens of brightly lit boats will make their way along the Sausalito waterfront on Saturday, December 14th at 6:00 pm, followed by a fireworks show. Bundle up and grab a spot along Sausalito's scene shoreline to enjoy the show. Food and drink will be available.

Telegraph Avenue Holiday Street Fair

The 36th Annual Telegraph Avenue Holiday Street Fair kicks off this Saturday, December 14th and runs through Christmas Eve so shoppers can pick up locally made gifts for the holidays. There will be live music, food and crafts by over 200 local artists.
