Here are some Bay Area events, from the North Bay to the South Bay, and everywhere in between for the weekend of Dec. 7-8, including the lighted yachts parade in Oakland and the roaming SantaCon sideshow.

1.  Oakland Lighted Yacht Parade

Watch a parade of boats, as they glide through the Alameda Estuary, decked in holiday finery.  Jack London Square is a great place to watch.

"We have sailboats, powerboats, even kayaks and rowers participate and light their boats," said Carol Blackburn, an organizer.
