"Machete' star, actor Danny Trejo played the role of super-hero Wednesday when he helped to rescue a little boy trapped in an overturned SUV in Sylmar.

The scarred-face actor, known for his many roles in Robert Rodriguez's films, tells the In-Depth hosts, Charles Feldman and Mike Simpson, that he happened upon the scene of two cars in the area of Hubbard Street and Jackman Avenue on the way to working on one of his cars at Chubby's Automotive. One of the cars was flipped onto its roof, and he saw that a boy was trapped inside, fastened into his car seat.

According to the "Desperado" star, he attempted to climb into one side of the overturned car but wasn't able to unbuckle the child. A woman bystander he identified as Marsha Jackson was able to crawl into the other side of the car, unfasten the boy's seat belt, and Trejo was able to grab the child and bring him to safety.

Trejo says the boy's grandmother told him that he was special needs. "My son's mother is an attorney and she works with special needs kids," Trejo told KNX. He added that he knew he needed to distract the boy, saying, "All right, let's use our superpowers!"

Trejo says he was thanking God the little boy was in a car seat or he would have flown threw the windshield.

Trejo kept the boy safe and distracted until his mother came to the scene.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived and once things were settled, Trejo laughingly says they all asked him for tacos.

Trejo owns several "Trejo's Taco" restaurants around the city.
