San Francisco police say they are searching for three suspects who attempted three carjackings early Thursday morning.

The first carjacking attempt occurred at 2:30 a.m. on Ninth and Harrison streets, police said. The second occurred blocks away while the trio allegedly sprung on another driver at Mission Street and Duboce Avenue around 3 a.m.

In all cases, police said that there were three suspects

This is a unique instance where these suspects seemed to be pretty motivated in carjacking someone for their vehicle," said San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca.

One victim told KPIX that he fought back against an armed suspect who tried getting in the front door.

"I just kept whacking at the barrel" of the gun, the Uber driver told the station.

One driver was injured by broken glass during one of the violent encounters.

Police had not released a description of the suspects.
